Frequently Asked Questions
How Many Outfits Should I Bring?
While you can bring as many as you like, I typically recommend three to four outfit changes. Having more outfits lends itself to added stress, and opportunities to misplace items.
What Should I Wear?
Senior photos sessions are designed to highlight YOU. There is no wrong answer to this question, but there are definitely things that photograph better than others, and it also depends a bit on where you want your session. A tuxedo in the forest feels less natural than jeans and a nice sweater. Patterns can capture your personality, but they can also detract from the subject - YOU. All of that to say, bring outfits that fit your day-to-day style, but maybe elevate it a notch.
Can I Bring My Jersey, Cheer Uniform, Insert-School-Activity-Uniform-Here?
Yes! Your accomplishments in school are hard-earned and worth celebrating. Whether you have a medal or trophy from a debate competition, a letterman jacket from track, or a uniform as part of a team you’ve dedicated your time and effort toward, these images will serve as a bit of a time capsule to who you have become over the past years.
What About My Horse?
Listen, I love animals! And I am absolutely willing to incorporate your fur family in your photos, but this needs to be expressly worked out prior to booking your session. If we have not discussed having your pets and they are with you at the time of the session, we may need to reschedule, so please communicate your desire to share this milestone with them ahead of time!
Should I Bring A Parent?
Yes! Parents love to carry your outfits and water and makeup and accessories and on and on and on. It’ll remind them of the days of yore when they carted all your things around when you were a tiny toddler. Just kidding… Mostly. It is super helpful to have extra hands with outfit changes, or someone to run to the car to grab a forgotten item. And, also, your parents are a huge part of this milestone, so including them is an awesome choice!
I’m Struggling With Acne - Do You Photoshop?
The short answer is, yes! The longer answer is: I am not an airbrush photographer, and what that means is I do light touchups, I can edit glaring spots (like the zit you got on your chin this morning because you were stressed about finals, or didn’t take your makeup off after HoCo), but I do not do full photoshop edits like they do for magazines. I aim for an authentic and realistic representation of who you are in this time of your life. That’s not to say these will be straight unedited images, it’s just to say I don’t run you over with a skin-smoother!
Do You Alter Body Shape or Size?
No. Never.
How Do I Share My Images?
Images are delivered in a digital gallery. There are two sets - one for printing, and one for sharing digitally. They have been optimized accordingly. Yearbooks and prints require a higher resolution image, whereas socials and emails take a lower resolution. You can order graduation announcements and cards directly from your gallery, and there is an album creator if you want to create a book for this milestone!
